Dubbed the "next roots figurehead of Australia, Turnbull is individual, definitive and electrifying" (Fasterlouder, 2007). Turnbull blends trance, roots, folk and blues in a “one man hurricane” show (Peats Ridge, 2009). 2014 saw the release of his 6th solo record titled "Alive In The Madhouse" which has received JJJ airplay and an international tour is underway. The album was recorded and released independently through Repton Records. After performing 1200 shows over the last 15 years and covering 200,000 km's in his transit van the new material draws on this experience and suits the live performance.

Whilst touring Geoff has been awarded "Best New Talent" & "Best Male Vocalist" for Newcastle Blues Fest in 2009, and was also dubbed the “next roots figurehead of Australia” by Fasterlouder in 2007. He has become a regular on the OZ festival circuit performing at Peat’s Ridge Music festival, Festival of the Sun, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Nimbin Mardigrass, Day in the Vines, Open Arms Festival, Brisbane’s Urban Blues and Roots festival, Newcastle Blues Festival and Sounds on Sunset. He has also played alongside acts such as Cog, Gotye, Lior, Ash Grunwald, The Mess Hall, Hatz Fitz, Kimbra, Vasco Era, The Rubens, Kingswood and Stonefield to name a few.

Geoff is also an advocate for youth mental health, and is currently completing his PhD examining therapies for anxiety and depression. In conjunction with this Geoff facilitates music workshops for LOVEBiTES; a sexual assault and domestic violence program for high schools on the mid north coast.

Reviewers have all noted the same explosive streak that sets Geoff apart from his predecessors.
